A new casual restaurant located at the southern end of Camden Street. Mad Egg’s ‘Get Laid — Get Fed’ cheeky graphic language influenced the unique approach we took to the project. Our brief was to create a flexible dining space that delivered on the client’s honest, no-frills philosophy.

Mad Egg takes fried chicken very seriously indeed! Honesty in food sourcing, attitude and hardwork is a cornerstone of their business.

In response we designed a space in which customers can watch on as food is prepped in the open kitchen. The flexible layout and lighting allow the space to morph to suit diners for breakfast, lunch and dinner, accommodating different groups sizes and busy take away times.

To help Mad Egg achieve their vision we contrasted raw exposed surfaces with carefully considered lighting and furniture design. A variety of seating types helps create a cosy feel. Everyone can find their favourite spot!

We approach every project by listening first, Mad Egg was no different. We helped our client to successfully realise their goal of creating a flexible restaurant space, true to the philosophy of honesty and hard work with a little bit of swagger! We must have done something right, it’s been packed every night since opening its doors!
